Today is the last day to register to vote for the Texas November elections. You can get information on where to get your registration form locally at the Secretary of State website.
You find out which districts you are in at Who Represents Me.
You can find out who is running for various state positions at Project Vote Smart.
Your local League of Women Voters has more information on local candidates.
If you don’t vote, don’t complain. If you vote based only on information you get from a 30 second television ad, then don’t complain about the negative attack ads. If you vote without taking the time to think, then don’t be surprised when your government tries to address issues in the same way.
If you think your vote doesn’t matter–you’re wrong. We haven’t reached the point where politicians can actually cast all the votes themselves-yet. But they are quite willing to spend millions of dollars to convince you to go out and vote their way. If your vote doesn’t matter, why would they bother?
